Generating Threat on Mob

First 5 seconds

Next 5-10 seconds

I was trying to see just how much threat I can generate in my normal tanking gear so far as its still a work in progress. So while out farming some herbs decided to try out one the 2 handed melee mobs in the Barrier Hills there by Shattrath City while farming. Noticed I was able to break over 1K threat with my 215 spell damage gear so far. Which seems pretty good to be able to hit 1K Threat Per Sec (TPS) though my gear is still improving.

My Normal Spell Rotation.
Seal of Crusader.
Avengers Shield.
Holy Shield.
Pop Spell Damage Trinket.
Judgement Crusader
Seal of Righteousness (SoR).
Consecrate. Once unless Multi-Mob or Boss
Keep up Holy Shield.
Judge SOR if need to.

My Spell Rotation on a Instance Boss.
Avengers Shield
Seal of Righteousness (SoR). Snap aggro.
Holy Shield
Judgement SoR
Seal of Wisdom
Pop Spell Damage Trinket
Avenging Wrath
Consecrate
Judgement SoR/Seal of Righteousness
Keep up Holy Shield when cooldown up and ready.
Keep up Consecration when cooldown up and ready.
Keep Judging SoR when cooldown up and ready.
Pop Trinket again fight long enough to do it again.

Sometimes it doesn't always go in that order always but that's the order idea I have in mind when I'm there in front of mob to get and maintain a aggro threat lead on mob before some DPS crit and steal aggro and I have to hit taunt and hope its not immune. It works for me. Sometime on a Boss I reverse the order because I'm always stacked with mana potions instead of judging Seal of Wisdom on Boss I judge Seal of Crusader and go all out for mana and pop a mana potion to regain a bit of mana THEN switch and Judge Seal of Wisdom. That allows me to get a good threat lead with holy damage boost from having Crusader up and them when I need to switch to Seal and Judge Seal of Wisdom to help get back mana for me and group and that way I can keeping up Holy Shield/Consecrating/Judging SoR fully as I need to. Throw in Exorcism if its a undead mob or demon. That works for me generating lots of threat.

If you need more threat boost. A Greater Arcane Elixir for +35 Spell Damage/1 hr or Superior Wizard Oil for +42 Spell Damage for/ 30 mins. I carry all those things in my bag at all times for a boost if I need to. Fortunately its not often I've had to use them up as yet but they all add to giving you a kick in the spell damage department for boosting threat.

WoW Player Burn Out....Why?

I read lots of blogs at work and on my days off, so I try to make the blog rounds when I can. Blogs are like community for me of all the various player blogs I keep up with. I know some people's blog better than I know people in my own guild. One thing that seems like a common thing I keep reading is players reaching the point of feeling endgame burnout for lots of reasons.

Burnout from the constant never ending repetitive loops through a instance with their guilds some seem. Burnout from trying to get a much needed gear upgrade or helping others to get theirs that never seems to drop for the 1001 try. This always leave me with not a pleasant look at the endgame having limited WoW play time. Its one reason I'm in no hurry to also get there. I remember getting burned out playing Secondlife after almost 3 years myself before starting to play WoW 9 months ago.

So a reader question: Just why are you and so many like you getting burned out in Outland and the endgame?

Should Paladin's have an Epic Flying Mount?

If Paladins could summon a Epic flying mount I would want one like that, an armored Pegasus Mount. Dream on I guess. Stopped over at WoWinsider to see what's happening on the WoW beat and they had a breakfast topic that asks: Should every classes get their own flying mount?
Blizzard will be adding a few new mounts to the game but seem to be faction mounts at best.

At 40 as a Paladin I remember learning the spell from trainer to summon a Charger. Warlocks also learn spell to summon their own mount also just like Paladins. Man did that feel special and just fitted well with being a Paladin. I just could not see being a Paladin and riding a Hawkstrider or at 60 either. To me the mount identifies you with your class or faction. At 60 as a Blood Elf we get another long quest from the Paladin boss in Silvermoon to find, acquire and obtain certain items, complete quest in Eastern Plagueland into Stratholme to complete the quest which in the end allows you to summon your epic armored Warhorse + Tabard (Blood Knight). Yes it does cost money, its not free. It was just awesome. So does that mean at 70 when I get there we get a Paladin version of a epic flying mount? No such luck lad! Should every class have their own mount. Don't think so. Some class needs to remain unique for the reason they already are as such. Since Paladins have had to quest to obtain their own class unique mount in game Blizzard should just continue it for flying mounts. Its uniqueness to both the class as a whole. However if Paladins could summon their own epic flying mount what would you want it to be or look like?

I think a epic armored flying mount would just be awesome. A flying armored "Pegasus" I would have to agree would make a very fine and ideal mount. Its a horse and it would be the the epic flying version to our Warhorse mount. Dunno if that fits warcraft lore or not or even if Paladins flew in old warcraft around azeroth or just did they fly about. A nice long quest chain for mount as usual would be just fine to get plus the skill & cost to acquire. I'm all for a flying Epic Pegasus Mount just like in the picture above. What kinda mount would you like IF Paladins could have a Epic flying mount like druids.

Durnholde - Epoch the Hunter, Hunted.

Seems I'm behind with Cavern of Time runs but that's all fine. An empire dosen't get built in a day let alone a week. Did Durnholde a few days ago for first time and 3 ties at him in a all melee group of Warrior & Rogues with a Druid as healer and we never got him down, so group called it quits. I never really had aggro and the healer was dying for some reason. Did another PUG group tonight and we had a good run with a Priest as healer. Plan was Priest to dispel Epoch the Hunter aura whenever it was up so he didn't keep dispelling the casters magic, buffs my holy shield among all things.

First thing was to make sure after the 3 first waves in the moment before boss fight that I had first and firm aggro on Epoch and everyone else DPS him from behind while I tanked him from the front and eventually got knocked back toward the house walls and worked much better than last time. The WoW client kept locking up and generating error reports (Had happened allot since patch) to send to Blizzard, was distracting. However Durnholde is fun and will need to run this place a few more times just for fun and the needed reps. So completed my quests and picked up quest for Black Morass. I guess a good night it was and the KOT Reps helps. Anyway after working all weekend and limited WoW time its Friday for me, it may be Tuesday for you. My UI's are slowly getting updated so that's great also. What was noticeable in this run was I was only one with a threat meter running it seems in the group.

Screenshots - Two Views of Tempest Keep.

A view looking straight at Tempest Keep in Netherstorm. Home of Kael'Thas Sunstrider and his crew.

Tempest Keep as seen from above at maximum altitude. I guess the sky does have a altitude limit in WoW and it was at that point above the central tower of Tempest Keep I took this shot.
