Countdown to Outland.

Current lvl: 57 and 3 bars

Been a bit busy questing in Felwoods, Winterspring primarily and back to Tanaris & Un'Goro for some follow through on a long chain for Linken's Quest to really get the Liken Boomerang. As a Paladin i don't have any range weapon other than as a Blood Elf i can mana tap a Caster which can in essence pull the mob, but then when you do that the caster can return fire at range. So a Boomerang is a awesome weapon to get for a Paladin. So questing time past weekend been a bit limited due to RL working schedule.

Been doing various quests in the Felwoods as i then do a few quests there so not so much the back and forth. Did some quest for the Cenarian Circle in Felwoods. Did some quests in Winterspring. Killed a ton more Furbogs just to keep upping my reputation with Timbermaw Hold to Neutral. I have to agree with many others, grinding can get old after a bit when its constant grinding for reputation points. I don't mind a grinding session for when its just for XP to level up, at least i know whats it for and what to kill to up it up, usually i do it on double XP when i have maxed out rest bonus to the next level. But faction reputation grinding can get old. Only good thing is you get a chance of a maybe good drop maybe in rolling the loot dice around for a Blue or Epic item maybe. Speaking of loot drops I've heard there are some very valuable items on various lvls that can only drop on world loot drops and they can drop literally anywhere and anyplace. So i have a strategy to kill everything i encounter usually back and forth to anywhere... just increase my chances if anything. So far I've got about 5 epics so not bad.

So far i haven't seen the Hanzo Sword drop for me anywhere in Winterspring, meaning i need to kill even more of every single thing to make it drop. I have acquired a habit on Ah of buying and trading Hanzo's, works for me too. Just another way i speculate on Ah trading and make do on good gold on profits as i know what this weapons is worth in its use to the right class that can use it. I will aim for at least friendly with Timbermaw Hold so i can do the followup quests when they open up at friendly. Also so i can get a Alchemy Recipe for Transmuting, but its not as valuable transmute compared to Primal Might Transmute which i already have.

So far i find Winterspring a nice place to be. However not many people around as its a remote area. But been nice and snowy is appealing with all the trees snowed over. So its usually back and forth to the Felwoods. So be a bit more grinding to get to Friendly with Timbermaw Hold. IF you get exalted with Timbermaw Hold i hear you get a chance if you complete the quests you get a Trinket of Timbermaw Hold that can summon a spirit shaman to fight by your side that can also heal you and fight. Sounds appealing. A Paladin can fight forever been always healed just keeping up Blessing of Wisdom. I do need to go fishing here still so not as yet been.

However for the most part i been really busy doing a very long adventurous special chain quest for Liken Boomerang (Few Days now). I think any mid level 50's Paladin should pick up this quest in Un'Goro by finding a recked boat in a pond in Southern Un'Goro as you will really have to look to find it to retrieve Linken lost memory and his things so can complete the quest to get this special Boomerang. The Trinket can do range damage with also the possibility to disarm the mob. Hmm, i like that. Anyway the quest have you talking to someone named Donova in Winterspring and other people, flying all over the continent literally, heading to places, finding stuff, retrieving stuff from people, drinking special potions, talking to people in death spirit phase, flying back to places, back and forth to Winterspring, back to Un'Goro, talk to more people, then to Liken again and then try to defeat a Elite 56 Elemental Void Walker on top of Fire Plume Ridge in Un'Goro to get the Boomerang as a reward. You get to get Liken's Sword too but I'm in it for the Boomerang. If you really like a good quest then this is fun. Blizzard should do more like this as the XP is also good.

So far i can tell you that lvl 56 Elite is a DAMM tough one to take down. You have to use a special item that you receive to dispel his impenetrable Aura. But you have to keep doing it otherwise you damage is reduced by ten times damage. Duhh! Anyway do far I'm on my fourth Death. This many deaths facing one Elite is unheard of for me or to any one mob. But so far the score is not good. However as a player I'm willing to try and fail enough times before i ask for help, but i may need to ask for help on this guy. Another reason is as a plate wearer this damage is costly to repair on plate armor. The problem for me is after i dispel his Aura keeping it dispelled and then been able to tell when he has it back up. Its really hard to see with your back to the wall and the view is now as clear. Why back to the inside cave wall you ask.... this sucker hits you flat out hard and its easier with your back to a wall, if not and your outside on Fire Plume Ridge he can squarely knock you off the mountain ridge. Good enough reason there, plus you don't need to have adds with the other elemental there on the ridge anyway.

Ding 55 in the Felwoods

Returned to the Felwood to complete some quest I had there and wasn't able to complete much, just wasn't as focused. I was thinking of leveling up a bit I guess. I had a few XP bars to go through and with max rest bonus available that means i'm a usual go for a grinding session or to up my reputation points with Timbermaw Hold.

Made it to the Furbolgs camp and started off killing the Shamans, I really hate their nature spells, so they were always the first to go. I can take the physical beating but the spells seem to drain me much in health. The rest of Furbolgs just took their turn on my shield and blade. There's not much to say about grinding, you just keep killing Furblogs until you eventually leveled up, so thats all I pretty much did and it really didn't take that long either. I did get a spectacular Blue Gryphonwing Long Bow. Nice for a Hunter!

The one thing that I hated was when the Furbolgs would drop a Curse on me and I could'nt remove it as it also lasted a full 2 minutes and it reduced healing to 50% on all healing. Paladins can't remove Curse spells best I know. This can be rough on a paladin grinding mobs in masses. At one time I had 4 curses on me i think they stacked too and all I know was that I could barely heal. Ardent Defender was a blessing and kept me alive long enough to think of ways to maybe get out of situation, as I could tell it was working to reduce incoming damage. At one time I bubbled and bandaged with a heavy netherweave bandage and it barely moved my health bar on low health. Needless to say I had to do a long corpse run back to the camp. Make that three times I had to do so grinding. As a result I had generated more hate for the Furbolgs and killed more of them for reps. The spell damage from the Shamans really dropped my health alot and reminds me as a pally i'm a bit vulnerable to magic damage. The funny thing was as a Alchemist I had some Magic Resistance pots in my bag and on hot key and i just forget to used them, they last 3 minutes each and give +50 resistance to all magic if I remember. Good to have, but most effective if actually used vs unused. I usually use Alchemy to back up where i'm weak as a Paladin with the needed Potion or Elixir a very good use of the trade i think.

All things otherwise the rest of the night was uneventfull, just alot of repetative killing of Furbolgs. Raised my reputation quite a bit but i'm still not friendly enough fully with Timbermaw Hold as yet. Well i Dinged 55 and for lastnight that was all that i really cared for, it was late anyway and i needed to head to my commute soon so Z's was in order. 3 more levels to Outland, progress is slow coming but i'm moving along, steady progress i say.

Journey to Winterspring

Headed to Orgrimmar to complete a Un"Goro quest, which made me now Honored with Thunder Bluff. I am now both Honored and Revered with all the major Horde factions. Did a few more things there before heading the on the journey to Winterspring. First thing had to figure was, how exactly do I get to Winterspring?

Decided to head to the Felwoods and from there I was told to head north in the Felwoods and would have to go through a tunnel. Galo and the Warhorse headed north and eventually ran into the tunnel after some time galloping through the forest. Seems you have to have good reputation with Timbermaw Hold to get through the tunnel unharmed, and from my last grinding session out here with the Felpaws I was in really good shape with a bit of reputation points already built up. However a few more reputation didn't hurt so went grinding to up my reputation with Timbermaw Hold (Need the XP anyway) a bit more and turn in stuff for more reputation points. Got some nice green loot drop in the process. Finally some plate armour I can actually use for a change, got a nice chest piece with stats. Also a few green weapons, but will AH them. I use blue weapons mostly.

Headed through the tunnel with my good relations with Timbermaw Hold and off to Winterspring. Pays to have good reputation going through the tunnel, you will need it. Also discovered that if you head the other direction inside the Timbermaw Hold tunnel it takes you to the Moonglades which was a cool find and so got the Flightpath there right outside the tunnel. It was refreshing to be in a new area from been in the jungles of Un'Goro. Winterspring seems really nice and have nice spring ponds. Those spring ponds got me wondering just what kind of fish can i fish here. Will have to do some ice fishing. Seems you can find the herb "IceCap" here also which was great for Herbalism.

Been in this new area I just went roaming around to uncover the roads, area map and find a camp or neutral town. Got ambush by some stealthed Tigers and was just good to see how tough things are here. Nice Tiger pets for Hunters here. Fought 2 lvl 59 Tigers at once, me been lvl 54 and won. Ahh pleasures of been a Protection Paladin. Found Everlook a goblin town and got the FlightPath there. Ran around the town to see if anything i could get from the vendors there i could use and not much. Did pick up a messenger quest for the Argent Dawn in Western Plagueland as i be heading that way soon.

Milestone - Ding, Ding, lvl 50.

Reached a milestone in my Paladin life last night by reaching lvl 50, for which its a milesstone for me at least. Why! Its because my professional skill as a Alchemist is as important to me as my class skills (money maker) as a Paladin though not equal by any means. Been a Alchemist and catering to my play style so i'm able to leverage my skills as a Alchemist in how i play what i call "Defensive Offense". Its my play style and it just works for me. I play my fights from a defensive position been a protection pally and then i just take it to the mob offensively as best i can. Just my playstyle, makes sense to me and may not work for anyone else. However Alchemy works for me when i need to use it to craft a potion or elixir.

Hit lvl 50 grinding away on the Timbermaw mobs at a camp in Felwood close to the entrance of the zone where i picked up the quest to thin out the camp there. So basically i spend some time as the camp is spread out and grouped up the mobs and did classic AOE smackdown on the mobs about 5-6 of them at a time, removing the caster first of course. Had about 8 bars to go and so just did it to lvl over 50 since i also had max rest bonus which made it much faster to get the XP. Did not get any great loot just silvers mainly...sucks. Was there long enough that i got a rare spawn black Elite Timbermaw in the camp a Elite 50 and kicked his but and got a nice green mail piece, it was no use to me though.

Basically the original plan last night was get two new Flight Paths to two new areas on the map i can quest in at my lvl that been Felwood and Azshara zones. This gives me some variety in questing and close to my level also. Other reason is good armour is hard to get and mobs my lvl drop gear close to my lvl usually. Other thing was to sample the area of Western Plaguelands to see difficulty in fighting the scouge there and see if any quests there i can do as yet. Been lvl 50 now opens up some options, however went to the camp outside the area to Plaguelands and nothing really was available quest wise. So i just slowly entered the area and fought some plagued beers, spiders and killed some of the scourge henchmen and undead there at a camp in the field. Then decided to leave the area as i can return later now i know what's there.

So this was when i headed out to Azshara area and found the horde camp there. Its somewhat off the path and kinda hidden took a while to find. This seem to be a nice area also to kill stuff in and quest easily i think. I also found some well sought after herbs as in Groomsblood and Mountain Sansum...... WOOT!. These things been going on AH for about 1g a piece, thats why some potions are soo expensive when selling. So good to be able to lvl up herbalism and gather my own herbs, more profit for me. Herbalism is ok its well over 300 as all my skills are also. Got the Flight Path and headed off to the Felwood.

Found the Felwood after a while in which i ended up in Night Elfs area of Darkshore. I guess i could not go over the mountains there to the Felwoods, so that didn't work as i tried. It took several trips on the wing rider to get to a location in Ashenvale where i then could figure out how to get to the Felwoods. I had misses a side path along the way that's why. Anyway in the Felwood its was there i picked up the 1 quest for the Timbermaws and found the Horde camp and got the Flight Path. Mission accomplished though i only completed one quest today for turn in, getting the Flight Paths was more important for me to do as it means i can return here easily and much quickly.

At lvl 50 i headed to Outland to Shattrath City the neutral faction city. You usually can't go to Outland till lvl 58, its pretty dangerous in Outland. Even in Shattrath City you can get attacked. As i was heading to the trainer there 3 elite demons appeared on the lower city and its was epic watching everyone there take them down. Reminded me that anything can happen here. Several lvls back i had gotten help from a warlock i had paid to get me to Outland and i got my hearthstone set in Shattrath so i can easily return to go to the Alchemy trainer here. At the trainer now been lvl 50 i got the developement skills for Master Alchemist. There were 8 recipies available to get, all great potion and elixir recipies. Since i always have plenty of herb stock on me and in the bank i brewed up the yellow and orange recipies i already had before to lvl up skills all the way to 325 and in a matter of about 45 minutes i was able to get all the recipies from the trainer. Bamm, thats how you do it!! That quickly i got all the trainer recipies, i always come prepared when i go to a trainer, saves having to make another trip, especially to Outland. The new recipies are my new pride and joy as they will be the raw source of my new batch of gold to make for the warchest. After that, i was at the AH to find new found recipies i can't get at trainer. Picked up a good one a Defense Elixir, these always sell good for a 1hour buff to total armour. That's one thing i invest my money into....buy new recipies, so i can have a recipie only a few have, better economics when selling potions when few people have a recipe you have.

With the increase Alchemy skills i eventually got my skills now up to lvl 351. At 375 i would max out on training skills. I was able to go to the bank and blow the dust off of Primal Might and another Elixir recipie that i could not use before requiring 300+ skills. Primal Might required 350 skill lvl. WOOT! Now i can make the big stuff and play with the big players in making Primal stuff as that stuff pays megga gold to transmute. I picked up a unusual transmute that jewelcrafters at high lvl needs Mercurial Stone, its like a Alchemist Stone for transmuting things. So been the one to dabble in higher economy selling. I checked the AH for its availability and a Mercurial Stone was selling for 100g. Checked pricing on Primal ingredients, was very high.. Damm! But profit looked so good on double the cost. One thing i learn is it takes some money or gold to make more gold or better gold, so best have some gold on hand always. So paid 45g and bought some Primal Earth, Life, Mana and transmuted to a Mercurial Stone which jewalcrafters need to do their thing. I posted it on the AH for 95g as did not cost too much to post it on AH, It will sell sooner or later. Testing the waters here.

The thing with Alchemy transmuting is, off all the transmutes you can do, you can only do one every 24 hrs so that limits you how much you can transmute and on what things. So price is high on transmuted items sold. If Mercurial Stone sells i double my money. I can't say i doubled my money on anything in Secondlife, but then again in Secondlife i built stuff and sold some stuff but there i never really cared to make a profit. I often gave things away to friends in a shape for them to texture to their liking. It was just the joy of been able to be a good builder... which i was.

I finally got to equipt the HANZO SWORD, its been sitting in the bank a while since i bought it some time ago. I haven't had a chance to use it but it will be amazing to use. Been thinking about getting it enchanted with Crusader and that will be arsome if i can get it done. Just the Enchant for Crusader is pretty damm expensive to get. I can afford it, but i'm conservative i guess and don't like waisting money either.
